EBS - files in APPLPTMP

Hello,

Our environment is EBS 12.1.3 / AIX V7.1 / Oracle DB 11g.  I have read several discussions about the contents of APPLPTMP - but I am not quite clear on how the files in this directory get created; what the files in this directory represent; what EBS process (if any) clears the contents of this directory.  I have over 1.7 million files in this directory - and my system seems to be creating a couple of thousand of these file every single day.  MOS Document Temporary Files From $APPLPTMP Cannot Be Deleted (Doc ID 1629894.1) mentions that these files are created by the f60webmx
