EBS - Demantra Datalink

We have separate instances of EBS and Demantra.

We need a DB link to connect EBS and Demantra. Oracle documentation requires us to enter the APPS password to integrate EBS and Demantra.

Our security team has raised a concern that APPS is read write and the integration between EBS and Demantra does not require full REad write on all tables.

Can we use any other user to integrate between EBs and Demantra ?

Has anybody used other than APPS user to connect between Ebs and Demantra ?
