When the AAI is setup, can a subledger be added??

When the AAI is setup, can a subledger be added? For Co 653 we need to post the gain/loss side of the entry with the subledger type S; Subledger 603USG such that Hyperion will pick this up as specifically a USGAAP adjustment. Is this possible?
