P4310 GL Class not updated on a non-inventory tem nbr change

Hi,

We have different GL Class for each non-stock item nbr.

The GL Class is use in AAI.

Suppose item nbr = Item1 Gl Class= ABC

Item nbr 2 = Item2  Gl Class = DEF

If we create a purchase order an entered item1, the GL Class (GLC) is update by default to ABC.

Suppose we return back on the line and change the item1 for item2, the system doesn't automatically update the GL Class, we have to blank out the field to make it updated to DEF.

Oracle says it is as designed because the field can be overrided...

Is there a solution to make it work and be sure that the GL Class is the one associated to the entered item nbr ?
