Rolling RAC Upgrades

Hi,

Appreciate any advice on following 2 questions regarding RAC environment rolling upgrades:

1.

When upgrading a Oracle RAC environment(11.2.0.4), when upgrading the Grid and ASM using DBUA, does a rolling upgrade automatically takes place and will the Grid & ASM stays up during the DBUA upgrade process? Would using a DataGuard or Golden Gate Solution to do a rolling upgrade for the RAC Database be the only solution?

2.
When doing an AIX OS upgrade in a Oracle RAC environment(11.2.0.4), can a rolling upgrade be done, first bring down DB instance & crs on one node, upgrade the OS,
startup DB instance & crs again, then move on to the next RAC node to follow same process for OS upgrade on second node?
