Is Embedded JNLP here to stay?

edited Mar 21, 2017 8:07AM in Oracle Forms (MOSC) 2 commentsAnswered ✓

According to New Features - Rev. 1 of the white paper on Oracle Forms 12c, client deployment can make use of Embedded JNLP.

If using embedded JNLP, you can continue to run Oracle Forms in a browser and make use of Java Script integration. This is, what I need.

But, what is the point? Embedded JNLP requires a browser with support for the Java-plugin. According to what I understand, this has ceased to be the case in Firefox and Chrome. And Microsoft support is also on its way to being abandoned.
