Meaning of Purchase cost method in P4105

We have done some setup with cost methods.

Only nobody could explain to me what the meaning is of the Purchase Cost method in the P4105.

For purchasing we use blankets and the price of a Purchase order comes from the blanket.

What does the Purchase cost method in this case?
