Same Item with Different Measuring standards

Hello

Same Item and one JDE instance operated out of US and Canada.

Item Master Primary UoM defined with LB as per US.  But Canada wants to use in KG. I ensured it has got conversions.  How KG can default for Canada versions. Creating each version for each Metric unit to default is cumbersome and users don't like this approach.  Any suggestions?
