JSessionId Cookies

So I have to meet some requirements and prove that our JSessionId Cookies are deleted when a browser is closed. I've tested this on our system and it is the case. This seems to be the default behavior according to help sites like stack overflow, but I cannot seem to find a definitive oracle doc, white paper, etc, that give a good, simple, distinct explanation that this is how cookies are handled.

Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

PS What the heck happened here with the Oracle Forums? This is ridiculous. How is anyone supposed to find anything?
