Multi-org Structure change

Hello,

We have a current requirement from business to change the legal entity name, company code (segment1) and department code account number.

We are in R12.1.3 and our current org structure is as below and we have been doing transaction in the below structure for few years.

BG-A -->LE-A--> Primary Ledger -->Operating Unit A --->Inv Org A ---> Subinv 1,2,3 etc (some subinv are locator controlled.

Need inputs on what is the best approach, analysis that need to be kept in mind when working on such a requirement from inventory perspective .

One approach we are thinking of is to use create a new legal entity , new Inv org and end date old legal entity. So the new structure will be
