Can I change Asset category in AP

Hi - I am using PO-AP-FA cycle and as per business requirement want to change asset category in AP imported from receipt/PO. However, I did this but asst category which I had changed in AP same not imported to mass addition. It is imported category attached at item master.

Please let me know whether it is possible, if yes then how.
