Tablespace-PITR

Hi there,

I tried to find out what exactly Tablespace Point-in-time-Recovery means because we only have the Standard Edition and no Enterprise.

When performing a incremental (differential or cumulative) backup of tablespace/database and then try to recover tablespace. What exactly in that case is Tablespace-PITR?

For example I do a level 0 backup on Sunday then incremental backups each day at 11pm e.g.

Am I able now to do a recover of tablespace with data of e.g Tuesday oder do I need Tablespace-PITR for that?

So does it mean incremental is seen as "backup" and can be "restored" without the "recover"? "Recover" is only usage of Archive-Logs or?!?!

Howdy, Stranger!
