FRM-40735: WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD trigger when updating employee assignments

Dear Oracle Gurus,

I am trying to update an employee record's supervisor assignment and I get the below error:

ORA-01403: no data found

--------------------------------------------------------------

FRM-40735: WHEN-VALIDATE-RECORD trigger raised unhandled exception ORA-06508.

I tried looking for this on My Oracle Support knowledge base and I am unable to find anything relevant documents. Please can you help me. As a result, I am unable to enter the supervisory assignment for this employee.
