RMAN backups on Standby Side

edited Apr 3, 2017 5:31AM in Database Backup and Recovery (MOSC) 5 commentsAnswered ✓

Hi,

When a backup is taken on primary side, RMAN switches logfiles before taking datafile backup and also switches logfiles after taking datafile backups. Just wanted to know how this is controlled when full RMAN backup is taken at standby side. As logfiles cannot be switched at physical standby side.

And one more thing when primary database is restored using standby backup in that case controlfile backup is of standby side I mean controlfile format is of standby side. Do we need to recreate the controlfile as well after restoring the database?

Thanks in advance.
