How are G and L MRP message calculated?
I'm trying to find details of the hierarchy that triggers a G (or L) message in MRP.
I can not determine what drives the system to suggest increasing an order quantity rather than placing a new order (or order and expedite). In general supply chain theory, this wouldn't occur if you were adjusting a PO within' lead-time. However, I often see increase messages for days that are well within the items lead time message. I would expect an Order and Expedite message rather than an increase order quantity message.
I am aware that you can remove G & L messages, but I want to understand the formula that drives them.
