3820 Admin Password Recovery

Have 3820 with ECX 6.4.0.  Going thru security audit I changed the admin password I thought successfully.  I logged out but couldn't log back in with old or new password.  I did not set to 15 characters so not sure if that is my problem with the new password. 

Looking for any ideas if that is my problem and if a way to enter fewer than 15 characters.

Otherwise looking for process to recover admin password.
