Number of Columns limits in Excel template

Hello,

We have a requirement for a report with 83 columns. I am trying to create it in BI Publisher using Excel Template. When I load sample data file and preview the report offline (I am trying with one row), I can see the output. But when I upload it and try to run from Oracle applications (still for one row data), the output is still XML and not in Excel. I have read from other users that there is a limit of 60 columns for excel. Is this true ? We are on BI Publisher Desktop 12.2.1.2.0 version and Oracle Applications 12.1.3.

  Please let me know the other options I can use to generate this report.
