Database upgrade fails with Out of memory error when upgrading from 11g to 12c

Database 12c upgrade is failing with the below exception. Can someone who had the similar issue let me know the  resolution for this please.

Exception in thread "Thread-265"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Exception in thread "Thread-264"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
Exception in thread "AWT-XAWT"
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space
