MRP taking long time (P3483)

Hi,

We are facing issues with MRP job (P3483) taking long time. This issue is random and sometimes it finishes in less than 2 hours. On a heavy day this would run for 5 hours creating issue with running of other dependent downstream processes.

Since this is random we ruled out options like purging data.

Please advise what we should check to ascertain this random behavior.

(We are on WS 7.3 cume 12)
