How to exclude an approval denied Requisition qty from Replenishment calculation?

How to exclude an approval denied Requisition qty from Replenishment calculation?

A requisition quantity that has approval denied is still being considered an-in-process requisition by the Replenishment processing.

Is there a way I can exclude such requisition quantity to be excluded when the system calculates re-order qty? I know that one way is to cancel that req but is there another way around it? Cancelling an approval denied req quantity becomes an extra task.

AWE (approval workflow engine) doesn't appear to have any option to delete such req line(s) upon denial.

I'm looking for an option like; running a process to cancel such reqs, or a config to exclude such reqs.
