We have some Inventory Items which are shared across multiple business units, For example: Item 10

We have some Inventory Items which are shared across multiple business units, For example: Item 10000 is shared across the business units US001 and US002. Both are Make items. But suddenly if one business unit wants to make it as "Expense" item which requires the item to be "Non Inventory". If we make it Non Inventory, then it is applicable for other BU also which we dont want to happen. Not sure how to achieve this as the item is shared across 2 business units. Please help.
