Expired serial number showing 'ACTIVE' in Inventory

Hello IB Team,

Please guide if we need to follow some extra steps to expire the item instance in IB, actually issue is we expire an item instance in IB manually as that is created with dup S/N. User mistakenly created dup S/N against some different item code so it registered in IB and as well as in the inv. serial table also.

Issue is we expired the S/N in IB but it is still showing ACTIVE from inv. side. and user can see 2 lines in material transaction.

Whether it would be fine if I change the S/N code from IB and expired it again, so will that make any sense?
