9.0 cfo wants to change fiscal date patterns

Hi guys,

We are a fuel delivery company running a 10/1 - 9/30 fiscal year.  Our new CFO wants to change our fiscal date patterns mid year.  Its been 15 years since my accounting days but I know there are dangers in this. There are a lot of custom processes here that are tied to both delivery sales orders and service work orders using mobile devices and "DSI" as well as Oracle Real Time Scheduler. I am sure this has been discussed before but I would appreciate any links, insights, warnings, heads ups, documents, that you can provide or point me to
