Manage a semifinished configured item, son of a configured item

I have a problem and I cannot find a solution. I have a configured item "A" composed by a semifinished configured item "B". To create "A" we need to cut "B" in different ways and this is why "A" is configured and also "B". The problem is that generally I create an SO to create "A" and this create the WO for "B", but sometimes I need to create "B" directly, entering a WO to make stock. This means that, sometimes, segments of "B" are calculated and equal to segments of "A"; in other cases, user need to answer directly
