Oracle Simple Benefits - Non flex coverage change end date employee's beneficiary

Hi

My client is using Oracle simple benefits. There are non-flex benefit plans that are assigned to full-time employees by default. When employee is making any change in beneficiary and after that there is salary change for employee, it is end dating current beneficiary and making initial beneficiaries as current. Is it intended functionality? Please help.
