App server and Gateway server hosted on same physical servers or can gateway separately be on 2 virt

Hi All,

We are in a phase of implementation of Production environment, details as follows,

2 Webserver(Physical Server OEL 6.8)

2 App server(Physical Server OEL 6.8)

2 DB server

However we found that Gateway Server is missing.After internal discussion came to conclude to have 2 Gateway Server but due to tough timelines procuring new hardware is challenge.

We need suggestion for following,

Can App server and Gateway server hosted on same physical servers or can gateway separately be on 2 virtualized Server(OS clustered) to achieve high availability.

Also if we install Gateway on App Server than will be able to achieve Gateway High Availability as already will be having Siebel Server and Gateway Server on both machine.
