Requirements for drill through from Oracle PBCS to Oracle EBS GL when using on-premise FDMEE

If we are using on-premise FDMEE to load data from Oracle EBS GL to Oracle PBCS, then how does drill through work from a data form in PBCS all the way to the on-premise EBS GL? I understand that the on-premise FDMEE and EBS GL instances need to be reachable over the internet (via http:// or https://), is that correct? Also, what kind of drill-through URL does FDMEE push to PBCS to enable this drill through?

I have attempted to look this up in quite a few Oracle docs and blogs, but have'nt had much luck finding this information.
