TCP Parameters best practice for 10gig fiber network
Default "Window Size" for Solaris 10 is 48k, but I'm not seeing as fast speeds through my 10gig link as I would expect to see.
I used iperf between two Solaris 10 machines connected through 1 switch (physically they're sitting side-by side in adjacent racks) and I maxed out at 3Gb/sec, which isn't quite as fast as I would have thought we should get. I know iperf isn't a real world scenario, however it should show me maximum theoretical throughput, which I would have expected at least 7 or 8 gb/sec on a 10 gig link with very little switch traffic at the time of testing.
