How to create automatic wastage/adjustments for orderable, non sellable inventory items in SIM
Today we order supplies items used by our stores, outside of SIM/RMS, using a legacy ordering system.
We are now designing a solution to order supplies items from within RMS/SIM.. We have set up a separate hierarchy for these supplies items, and have setup a few item attributes such as orderable, non-sellable and inventory.
We need an automated schedule that will adjust these items out from the store inventory periodically(say once a week) , with a reason code=1 (Wastage). We will setup the expense account in RMS for taking the hit arising out of such adjustments.
My question is... is there an out of box functionality in SIM that will allow the Wastage/Adjustment to be set up? Can I make use of the Product Group feature (Type - Wastage) and set up/schedule a new product group at the item hierarchy level?
