RDF: Baseline smoothing in Preprocessing

in Retail Predictive Application Server (MOSC) Question

How does the baseline smoothing function in Preprocessing in RDF, at the start and end of a product's life. The user guide indicates that the data points are padded with the first and last timeline instances to make up for the window to calculate the standard median. However we do not see that happening in our solution. Any examples of how this is expected to work?
