Basic Preferences P40070 Delivery Date (09)

Hi,

I'm working with 9.2 environment and wondered if someone out there can clarify. I've been working with the Delivery Date Basic Preference and had successful results using online documentation.

Originally I was under the impression I needed to find a field available within the profile setup to link to customer accounts. That being said, I chose ROUT and setup values in UDC 42/RT. I then attached the value to customer billing instructions. I then setup the hierarchy as well as profile including the ROUT value. However, during testing I found that even after removing the ROUT value from both the customer billing instructions as well as the profile record, I got the same results? What's the purpose of the additional fields in the profile setup P40309 such as Route,
