Position Control Position ID Edit

When assigning a Position ID to an Employee through P0801ORG, I understand that the system looks into F08101 using the Home Business Unit, the Position entered on the P0801ORG form AND the Fiscal year.

Question: Where does the program takes the Fiscal Year from to be able to look for a valid Position in F08101?

I tried to assign a position to an employee on 04/26/2017; that Pos ID is a valid position for the EE's Business Unit and for the fiscal year 2017 in F08101 however the P0801ORG/P0801ORGA returns a hard error message indicating that the Position ID entered does not exist in the Position Master File (F08101).
