Sales Update not affecting Item Ledger

When ship confirmation does not affect inventory we would normally have SalesUpdate to move the items to inventory based on the processing option 3 of tab Update.

We notice that if there is no quantity sales update moves the status of the order and purges it to history but does not make any commitments. It fails in case lot number is missing.

If there is quantity and all information provided we do not have any issues.

Does Sales Update check if there is enough quantity before moving the items into inventory? Does it perform availability check?
