Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. APP-ONT-251851: Entered Hold Criteria Combination Is Not Valid Across Operating Units

Hi All,

Does any one know why error 'APP-ONT-251851' occurs when attempting to apply a hold source using an item hold criteria across multiple OU's?

This happens when we check the 'Applicable to All Operating Units box' or if we enter specific operating units.

The hold source will apply just fine if we create it for only one operating unit at a time.

I did find (Doc ID 2080013.1) which says this is intended functionality, but there really isn't any explanation of why its intended functionality.
