TSS(SDM) : How to do reference across different Data Sets

To do an R&D schedule in TSS, we need to post the total of Staff Expense and Depreciation Expense back to HTP.  Since Staff Expense data and Depreciation Expense resides in different Data Set and seems not able to refer  to each  other , we don’t know how to get the sum. Could any of you please suggest? Much appreciated.
