Changing carrier method on a staged/pick confirmed delivery

Hi, we are in R12.1.3 and occasionally have to change our carrier method on the shipping transactions screen at the last minute after the delivery has been staged/pick confirmed.

Is there a process we can follow that will allow us to make this change and replicate the new carrier method across all lines for the same delivery, and also update the order header and order lines to which the delivery is related, without having to backorder everything?
