what is the uses of XML data template instead of RDF report?

Hi All,

Could you please suggest on the below points something?

1) what is different between rdf report & XML data template?

2) what is the uses of XML data template instead of RDF report?

I have custom Invoice Print Selected Invoices BI publisher is taking very long time(performance) to complete max 1 hr for some OU's.

So i want to develop Invoice Print Selected program using XML data template instead of RDF report.
