R12 customer master hanging due to large volume of sites

Team,

Our client is belongs to "Consumer Business" and under one party we have multiple accounts and each and ever account is holding huge number of sites.

Due to this volume we are not able to fetch record via customer screen (its hanging for ever) and also when ever try to add the addition sites also hanging for ever.

Is there way we can purge the customer OR alternate process to make it customer master form should work normal.

We are in R12.1.3
