Approved CLM Reqs Returned from BWC don't unencumber the Reqs
Hello fellow Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Users...
Our organization implemented/upgraded to CLM version 12.1.3 from a Non-CLM 11.5.10 environment. As a result, certain standard functionality seemed to have changed from Non-CLM 11.5.10 to CLM 12.1.3. We point this out because not all changes were clearly documented, and as a result were complete surprises once we encountered the functionality change. This post addresses one of these type of changes:
Approved CLM Reqs Returned from BWC don't unencumber the Reqs. Instead the req preparer must create a req amendment to zero out the req. This is a very different behavior that what we experienced in non-CLM 11.5.10. In 11.5.10, once a req gets returned (by the Buyer, after Req approval) the encumbrances on the original req are relieved. We have requested that Oracle provide this same functionality in our CLM 12.1.3 environment, but Oracle has said that sort of change will greatly impact all other CLM 12.1.3 customers.
