Can an ASM disk throwing read errors hang an ODA?

Has anyone ever seen a storage (voting) disk in DATA & RECO throwing read errors (never write) completely hang all databases on an ODA (V1)?  It appears that's what happened causing one node to fence off the other.  ODA reboot cleared up everything leaving the disk still in PredictiveFail.
