Change Location Flexfield

Hello,

We are using 12.1.3 and for one our sites the Assets don't have locations, after some investigation I found out the segments on Location Flexfield are not required. I would like to do the following:

1- Change the Location Flexfield, enabling the require checkbox for some segments

2- Add a location to all assets

This is possible after we are live for 3 years?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
