Two consolidations are required before showing in balance

A user has brought to my attention that after posting or unposting a journal in HFM and then consolidating things are showing out of balance, in order for things to balance another consolidation can be ran, or a force calculate. Then everything balances.

We tested in 11.1.2.4.204, .203, and .202. All display this behavior. User insists that 11.1.2.3 did not require this extra consolidation or force calculate in order to balance. I do the infrastructure and don't know enough about the accounting side to know if this behavior is expected or if something is wrong.

Does anyone have any insight?
