What is the difference between Store data and Replace data export mode in FDMEE

From admin guide :

"

Store Data—Inserts the data from the source or file into the target application,

replacing any current value.

Replace Data—Replaces the data in the application with the data in the load

file. The Replace Data option clears account values only for data between the

start-period and end-period parameters specified when running the data rule.

When account values are cleared, the data from the data load file is then

pushed into the application."

Does it mean that replace is going to clear all period data and Store doesn't clear everything from period but just the file content gets updated?
