Oracle streams - maximum number of participating systems
Dear community,
I searched the Oracle streams documentation but no luck
My questions:
- Is there an official statement anywhere regarding the maximum number of participating databases/sites in a streams replication? I have it in the back of my mind that i read 32 somewhere, but cant remember in which document and now our product manager needs binding facts he can put into our product documentation.
- We are using n:m (multimaster) replication. An Oracle consultant told me last week (in his opinion) you should not use it for more than 4 systems because of some kind of "locking issues". Dont know what to make of this statement (he was more of a RAC guy), i guess it would highly depend on if the setup is well done or not (no change cycling, as less as possible apply conflicts, etc). Any empirical values for how much participating systems Streams is "running smooth"?
