Why does the User Profile JDE need *SAVSYS Special Authority?

We are in the process of tightening our security and since almost all User Profiles are grouped to JDE and JDE has the special authorities of *SAVSYS and *JOBCTL then all users also have the same special authorities. I can understand the *JOBCTL but I don't understand *SAVSYS. I might even accept *SPLCTL for spool files but what does the JDE user profile need to save and restore on the system? According to Doc ID 630142.1 JDE needs those special authorities but processing has changed and security has become even more important.
