Is there a way to restrict who can post a journal entry batch based on the batch type?

For certain journal entries, we would like to have the Accountants be able to enter but only Controllers allowed to post. We have batch security set up for all the normal journal entries but this would be more restrictive, based on batch type.

I was thinking about getting creative with the versions of R09801 and having one version that would post any batch type except "R" and a second version that could post any batch type, including "R" and restricting the second version to just Controllers.

Has anyone tried such a thing? Or any other method of controlling posting based on batch type?
