Load Balancing IP Configuration

Hi,

I'm trying to configure load balacing in my personal system via virtualbox. I have setup two app nodes(ebs,ebs1 - 12.1.3) and one db node(11.1.0.7). I have made changes in context files of both nodes to point the external url to oracle.localdomain and i would like to know how to setup this external hostname. Do i need to add this in hosts file of both nodes and enable a network adapter?
