12c release 2 does not support non pdb architecture ?

Hi,

i read  in a blog , 12c release 2 does not support   non pdb architecture ? it says   possible but not supported .  but  i can not find  about it in a formal document . 

we  will create new databases on 12c R2 but we are not use multitenant achitecture. i want to be sure about it ?
