Merge Contacts in Siebel

I am not able to merge some of the contacts in "Contact Administration" Screen. But for some of the contacts it is working fine.

I checked for the Method, "MergeContactRecord" been written in the browser script of the applet associated with "Merge Contacts" button. But I am not sure on the Method functionality since it is vanilla Method of Siebel.

So, not sure when this Method is called, what fields or columns, this method will match based on which the records will be merged.

Please provide your inputs.
