Wrong item received in PO

Hi,

There is one item received with  Purchase order in April (Item Received was wrong).  We need to cancel this receipt and receive again with correct PO. But it is vouchered as it is of April month. we  are trying to void the Voucher in May but it going to Month of April.

So, Can we reclassify (transfer this item quantity and cost to correct item with same quantity and cost) . without any effect in April. ??

Is this right or could you please suggest any other way to do this.
